Secluded Retirement Homes

Salthouse Farm Park is a private estate, located in the outskirts of the village of Severn Beach,
near Bristol,  on the Severn footpath – on the sea wall. Get in touch with us for more information.

Salthouse Farm Park

Salthouse Farm Park is owned and managed by Elderflower Park Homes. The 8-acre park was originally a dairy farm and holiday site owned by the long-established Miller family. The park estate was purchased by Elderflower Park Homes in January 2022. Day to day on-site management of the park is handled by resident wardens, who live in Elderflower Cottage.

The park is now a modern, private estate of 60 park homes for the retired and semi-retired. Although no longer a working farm, it retains its charm with old farm buildings, vintage machinery, a tree lined entrance drive and a pasture field often occupied by a flock of sheep. Many species of wildflowers throughout the park attract an array of birds and wildlife. Additionally Daisy, a full size plastic cow, has become a bit of a mascot in her pen at the entrance.

There is a small play area for visiting children to run off their energy.

The park entrance is wide enough for coaches to collect residents for day trips and coach holidays and the mobile library visits once a fortnight.

There is a secure compound for the storage of touring caravans and motorhomes. Some of the 45 bays are filled by Salthouse Farm residents, but the facility can also be rented by owners who live outside the park - subject to availability. Contact us for more information.

Location and facilities

The park is set beside the Severn Estuary with direct access to the estuary embankment coastal footpath and cycle path. The local villages of Severn Beach and Pilning contain a Post Office, surgery & pharmacy, general store, bakery, hairdressers, garage and pubs.

Many of our residents enjoy taking part in village community life including WI, History Society, Over-50’s Club, Line Dancing and Gardening Club, as well as playing bowls, skittles and golf, and attending local churches. A mobile library regularly visits the park. Some of our residents still enjoy part time work and there are plenty of opportunities locally.

The Cribbs Causeway shopping and leisure complex is just 5 miles away, with many major retail outlets, cinemas, restaurants and free parking. Thornbury; a traditional market town, is 8 miles from the park. Across the Severn Bridge, Chepstow is just 8.9 miles away;  both towns have a good range of shops and restaurants, as well as a popular weekly markets.

Severn Beach is 10 miles from central Bristol. There are regular bus and rail services from the village. There is also easy access to the M4, M5 and M48 motorways.  Bristol International Airport is only 18 miles away and the historic Forest of Dean is also nearby.
